Indicators of outage: Status Page Traffic

Sketching out some possible improvements to our monitoring and something that popped into my head was tying traffic spikes on our status page to our alerting system. If we suddenly see a few hundred percent rise in traffic we can be pretty sure something’s not working somewhere on our side. Not quite as much fun as a previous experiment on watching tweets for our name and less than positive sentiment but something that could be interesting to prototype.
